Dream House (Short Film) - Moon Era Films
Wrote, directed, and produced this narrative short about hope and healing in the foster care system. I also raised $9K in funding, built the crew, and led a four-day production through Moon Era Films. Currently in its festival run.
The goal was to create an emotionally resonant, high-quality short film that could both stand on its own and serve as a launchpad for a larger narrative project. We aimed to portray trauma and healing through visual metaphor and naturalistic performances—on a limited budget, tight timeline, and small production crew. The challenge was creating a film that would emotionally connect with audiences and demonstrate proof of capability to investors and festivals.
- Wrote and revised the short film script to express themes of trauma, identity, and hope
- Infused subtle magical realism, balancing dreamlike visuals with grounded emotion
- Designed a full film pitch deck in Figma Slides, outlining creative vision, budget tiers, and sponsorship opportunities
- Pitched the project to investors, producers, and local businesses, raising $9,000+ in independent funding
- Built tiered sponsorships including Executive Producer credits, business placements, and nonprofit partnerships
- Personally produced the film—scouting locations, recruiting cast and crew, securing gear, and finalizing production logistics
- Collaborated with department leads across cinematography, production design, wardrobe, and sound
- Coordinated casting calls and scheduled a four-day shoot, with all principal photography completed locally
- Directed on set with a focus on tone, performance, and natural light aesthetics
- Led visual and emotional storytelling with a dedicated cast and intimate crew dynamic
- Edited and scored the film, as well as supervised color grading, and final audio mix
- Currently submitting the film to festivals
- Using the short to support development and pitching of the full-length Dream House feature screenplay
